The live experience
What reaches the room
BOTMC, short for the Berkeley Old-Time Music Convention, is a five-day celebration of traditional American roots music. Rooted in a long history of string-band contests that began in 1968 at Provo Park, the convention was relaunched in 2004 and has been held annually since then. The festival brings together top local and national performers for concerts, workshops, jam sessions, a square dance, and the renowned string-band contest, hosted across multiple venues throughout Berkeley.
