Big Shrimp formed in 2024 in Bridgeport, CT, bringing together four multi-instrumentalists who share a love for soaring melodies, layered grooves, and fearless live exploration. Core members Jared Sage Cowen (guitars/vocals), Max Perrotti (keys/bass), Daniel Cohen (drums), and Henry Thomas (percussion) create a dynamic quartet that rides the line between progressive rock complexity and the immediacy of jam-band energy. The result is a sound that invites both careful listening and wild, crowd-sourced improvisation.
From late 2025 into 2026, Big Shrimp has kept a prolific touring pace, making festival appearances at major events like Northlands Festival and performing intimate club dates at venues such as Cervantes’ in Colorado and Park City Music Hall. The band’s live show has earned them praise in jam-community circles, with GratefulWeb naming them a Top 12 Upcoming Jam Band to Watch in 2026. They also celebrated a sold-out Phish After Party in New York City after MSG’s New Year’s Run, underscoring their crossover appeal among dedicated jam fans and casual concertgoers alike.
