Bill MacKay is a prolific guitarist and composer based in Chicago, active since 2002. A Berklee alum, he’s become a fixture in the city’s experimental and folk scenes, known for weaving guitar work with keyboard textures and exploratory composition. He performs with groups like Black Duck and BCMC and frequently collaborates with artists such as Ryley Walker, Nathan Bowles, Katinka Kleijn, and Edith Frost. MacKay’s music crosses borders between folk, avant-garde, and intimate improvisation, making each performance a distinctive experience.
