Binomio By Casa Patas is a dynamic flamenco duo formed by Francisco Hidalgo and Anabel Moreno, linked to the prestigious Casa Patas and its Conservatory/Foundation in Madrid. This project represents a dialogue between two distinct flamenco identities, rooted in their training and performance histories. Francisco Hidalgo, born in Cádiz in 1985, brings a prize-winning background that includes the Premio Nacional Anilla la Gitana (Ronda, 2008) and the Second Prize at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas (La Unión, 2010). Anabel Moreno, born in Granada in 1979, trained with notable figures like Mariquilla and contributed to major productions such as Mis Raíces, showcasing an international performing footprint. Binomio’s program was produced in partnership with the Fundación Conservatorio Flamenco Casa Patas (Madrid), highlighting a strong educational and artistic collaboration within the flamenco community. While public activity in the mid-2010s culminated in high-profile U.S. appearances—Miami and Seattle—the last widely publicized Binomio engagements occurred in 2017. The Casa Patas Foundation continues to support flamenco through education, events, and outreach, even as venue conversations and pandemic-era adjustments transformed the landscape for Madrid flamenco venues.
