Black Voices of Cabaret (BVIC) is a groundbreaking initiative from Working In Concert dedicated to spotlighting Black performers in cabaret across Jazz, Blues, Gospel, R&B, theatre song, and more. Recognized for artistic excellence with The American Prize (First Place, Virtual Performance) in 2022 and voted Best Cabaret/Concert/Solo Performance by BroadwayWorld Chicago in 2024, BVIC continues to elevate diverse voices on stage and screen.

BVIC cultivates a vibrant roster of standout artists—Dee Alexander, Tammy McCann, Brianna Johnson, Isiah Mitchell, Sonia Oyola, Holly McGuire, LaShera Moore Ellis, Meagan McNeal, and many others—through ongoing collaborations with Chicago venues and cultural partners. The 2025 project, Reimagining Cabaret: The Journey Continues, is slated for March 22, 2025 at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts in Chicago, underscoring BVIC’s commitment to innovative, inclusive performance.
