Blackwater Drowning is a dynamic five-piece melodic death metal/metalcore group delivering blistering riffs, aggressive vocals, and intricate guitar work. Hailing from scenes across the United States, the band has built a reputation for soaring melodies, heavy grooves, and meticulous production. The lineup features Morgan Riley on vocals, Aria Novi on bass, Jeremy Bennett and Ron Dalton Jr on guitars, and Aamon Dalton on drums. In 2022, they released their debut album Sonder // Satori via Blood Blast Distribution, following two successful EPs. 2025 saw the band signing with Bleeding Art Collective for artist representation and expanded distribution through Blood Blast (with Nuclear Blast/Believe components). In 2026, they return with Obscure Sorrows, featuring guest solos by Greg Burgess (Allegaeon) and Yo Onityan, and mixing/mastering by Cryptopsy's Christian Donaldson.
