Biography

Vân-Ánh Vanessa Võ is a celebrated Vietnamese-American composer and dan tranh virtuoso whose career spans decades of groundbreaking work in contemporary and traditional music. She founded Blood Moon Orchestra to realize a long-held vision: to fuse Vietnam’s musical legacies with urban and global genres. Võ’s artistry has earned her national recognition, including the status of Emmy Award-winning composer and the distinction of being the first Vietnamese artist to perform at the White House as an Artist Laureate. In 2025, she was named a Taproot Fellow by ACTA, underscoring her continual impact on arts, culture, and education.
