Bloodkin is a band with deep roots in American indie rock and Southern-leaning Americana. Originating in West Virginia and relocating to Athens, Georgia in 1986, Bloodkin formed a tight-knit circle with collaborators who shaped their sound, including Widespread Panic and legendary producer Johnny Sandlin. Their debut, Good Luck Charm (1994), helped establish their reputation, featuring guest appearances from Widespread Panic and the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. In 2022, Bloodkin was honored with induction into the Athens Music Walk of Fame, a testament to their enduring influence on Georgia's vibrant music scene. In the 2020s, archival reissues like Out of State Plates Remastered (2023) and Good Luck Charm Remastered (2024) have kept their catalog fresh for new and longtime listeners. The 2021 release Black Market Tango showcased community-driven collaborations tied to festivals and a broad network of musicians.
