Blue Ridge Orchestra (BRO) is a nonprofit, volunteer orchestra based in Western North Carolina. In residence at UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium since 2017, BRO brings together musicians from the region to perform compelling classical, contemporary, and collaborative works. The organization received 501(c)(3) status in August 2005, reflecting its long-standing commitment to community engagement through live performance.

Under the baton of Music Director Dr. Emily Mariko Eng, BRO blends traditional and modern repertoire, drawing on a faculty member who also leads wind bands at UNC Asheville and holds a DMA in Conducting from the University of Georgia. This unique leadership helps BRO connect with audiences of all ages and backgrounds while maintaining a flexible, community-driven approach to programming.
