The live experience
What reaches the room
Blues Boy Hubbard was a defining presence in Austin's blues landscape for seven decades. Born in LaGrange, Texas, in 1934, he moved to Austin in 1955 and became a central figure on the Eastside blues circuit. He led Blues Boy Hubbard & the Jets and lit up legendary venues like Victory Grill, Charlie’s Playhouse, Austex, the Continental Club, and the Skylark Lounge. Though his career was built on electrifying live performances rather than studio releases, Hubbard mentored a generation of Austin blues players and helped shape the city’s Chitlin’ Circuit history.
