Bobbi Wilsyn is a celebrated jazz vocalist, educator, and cultural advocate based in the Chicago area. Recognized for her contribution to the jazz community as both a performer and an educator, she has earned accolades including the 2018 Black Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievement in Jazz Music (AAAA) from the African American Arts Alliance of Chicago and the title of Chicago’s Jazz Hero by the Jazz Journalists Association the same year. As Professor Emerita at Columbia College Chicago, Bobbi led the Vocal Studies program and shaped the next generation of singers with a commitment to artistry, technique, and community engagement.

Her discography highlights include the 2007 album It’s About Time (Jazz CD Baby/Indys), featuring tracks like Tuesday Afternoon and I Didn’t Know What Time It Was. In 2025, Bobbi is hitting the Chicago area with a series of engaging performances and educational showcases. The Winters Jazz Club engagement includes the Duke’s Divas Ellington tribute on April 27, a Nina Simone tribute on June 29, and holiday shows in December, plus a special Ladies Who Sing the Blues night on October 26.
