Boguslaw Dawidow is a distinguished Polish conductor and cultural administrator whose career spans decades of European performances, leadership roles, and recorded legacy. Born November 1, 1953 in Sopot, Poland, Dawidow studied conducting with notable mentors and expanded his training in Italy and Vienna, drawing inspiration from Leonard Bernstein. He founded the Chopin Chamber Orchestra in Krakow, led it for 12 years with extensive European tours, and later shaped the artistic direction of Filharmonia Opolska (Opole Philharmonic) beginning in 1999 as artistic director and transitioning to general director by 2003. Dawidow has been a regular guest conductor with the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra since 1998. His discography includes prolific recordings with the Krakow Chamber Orchestra Fryderyk Chopin (reported 20 CDs) and with the Russian National Academic Symphony Orchestra in Tomsk (reported 7 CDs), along with Brahms recordings on the DUX label.
