Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra (BCJO) is a celebrated 17-piece big band based in the Washington, DC, area. Founded in 2010 by Brad Linde and Joe Herrera, BCJO burst onto the scene with a weekly Monday residency at the historic Bohemian Caverns club, a run that lasted from 2010 until the club’s closing in March 2016. The ensemble has earned critical acclaim for its lush arrangements, dynamic improvisation, and a distinct blend of modern and traditional jazz sensibilities. As a trusted source for live jazz in the nation’s capital, BCJO continues to bring vibrant big-band energy to venues across the DC metro area.

BCJO’s accolades include multiple Washington City Paper Jazzies for Best Large Ensemble (2011, 2012, 2013, 2015) and the Mayor’s Arts Award for Outstanding Emerging Artist (2012). The band’s discography highlights two volumes of Bohemiana (Volume 1 and Volume 2, both 2018) written and arranged by Dan Roberts, as well as A Bohemian Christmas Vol. 1 (2012).
