Bohemian Trio is a dynamic contemporary jazz ensemble blending classical lyricism, jazz harmony, Latin dance influences, and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Led by saxophonist Yosvany Terry, pianist Orlando Alonso, and cellist Yves Dharamraj, the group creates an improvisational, cross-cultural sound that resonates from intimate chamber settings to bold festival stages. The trio’s work has earned critical acclaim and notable recognition within the jazz community, including Yosvany Terry’s Doris Duke Artist Award in 2015 and a Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors grant for Afro-Cuban Roots: Yedégbé. Their debut album Okónkolo, released on Innova in 2017, marked a milestone in modern jazz with tracks like Tarde en la Lisa, Push Gift, Impromptu No. 1, and Okónkolo. The 2017 CD-release party at National Sawdust highlighted the ensemble’s ability to fuse classical and contemporary forms with rhythmic vitality.
