Key faculty leadership includes Lori Gray (Director of Music Education; Department Chair, joined Boise State in 2017), Myron Peterson (Director of Bands, appointed 2023), Derek Ganong (Director of Jazz Studies), Christina Mancheni (Voice), Craig Purdy (Violin/Director of Orchestras), Sarah Paradis (Trombone/Euphonium), and Del Parkinson (Distinguished Professor of Piano). In 2025, three Boise State faculty members were named Distinguished Professors, underscoring the department’s commitment to scholarly and artistic excellence.
