Hailing from college-town roots and built on decades of performances, Bop Harvey is a rock act with a history as rich as their melodies. Formed in 1984 at Michigan State University with a first show on August 18, 1984, they carved a path from the Midwest to the East Coast, ultimately relocating to Providence, Rhode Island in the late 1980s. The band’s early win at the WBRU Rock Hunt in 1989 helped cement their status as a crowd-pulling outfit known for high-energy live sets. After a prolific period that yielded more than 2,000 live shows and 10 albums, Bop Harvey disbanded in 1994 and later reunited to celebrate anniversaries of their enduring legacy. In 2025, they released Better Angels, a vinyl jump-up release featuring 11 tracks, including a cover, signaling a renewed chapter for the band. Their career also includes notable performances such as appearing at Bill Clinton’s inauguration in 1993 and on Conan O’Brien’s Late Night show. Social media and new music channels keep fans connected via Linktree and major streaming platforms.
