Boris Brott was a renowned Canadian conductor, motivational speaker, and a driving force in Canada’s classical music scene. He founded the Brott Music Festival in 1988 and built an enduring legacy through the National Academy Orchestra of Canada and BrottOpera. As artistic director and conductor of the Orchestre classique de Montréal (OCM) from 2000 until his passing in 2022, Brott shaped programming that celebrated Canadian composers and international masterpieces alike. His influence extended beyond the concert hall through his engaging speaking engagements, which inspired audiences of all ages.
