Bowen McCauley Dance (BMDC) was a cornerstone of Washington, DC’s contemporary dance scene from its founding in 1996 through its dissolution in 2021. Led by renowned choreographer Lucy Bowen McCauley, BMDC produced more than 100 original works and frequently collaborated with live musicians to create dynamic performances that energized stages across the DC metro area. Although BMDC officially dissolved on October 31, 2021, its artistic legacy continues through Dance for PD programs and ongoing community partnerships.
