About Breakout Festival
Founded in 2015 by Crescendo1 and later partnered with Timbre Concerts in 2018, Breakout Festival quickly established itself as Western Canada’s biggest hip-hop festival. The event’s inaugural edition in 2018 featured acts like Migos and Tory Lanez, while 2019 highlighted A$AP Rocky, Rae Sremmurd, Lil Baby, and Gunna, among others. After a pandemic pause, Breakout returned in 2022 with Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Baby headlining over two days at the PNE Amphitheatre, marking a strong premiere post-lockdown. Historically, events have offered all-ages access and Playland perks, reflecting Vancouver’s family-friendly yet high-energy festival vibe.
