Brevan Hampden is a dynamic jazz drummer and the founder and leader of Conjunto Breve, a multinational salsa ensemble blending New York–style and Cuban salsa flavors since 2012. Based in North Carolina, Hampden also serves as a Jazz Drum Set Professor at the University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNC Greensboro), where he leads the Latin Jazz Ensemble and mentors several ensembles from 2022 through 2025. His work spans jazz, Afro-Cuban, salsa, and Latin jazz, earned through performances with iconic artists and bands, and recognized for its rhythmic sophistication and crossover appeal.

As an educator, Hampden bridges performance and pedagogy, guiding students through jazz studies with a practical, performance-driven approach. He holds a Bachelor in Jazz Studies from NCCU (2009) and a Master’s in Jazz Studies/Performance from CUNY Queens College (2016).
