Brian Blade is one of modern jazz's most respected percussionists and bandleaders. A Grammy winner for Best Jazz Instrumental Album for Trilogy (Chick Corea & Christian McBride, 2013), Blade has forged a distinctive voice on the drums—swift, melodic, and deeply intuitive. In 1997, he formed The Fellowship Band, a collaborative project that has become a cornerstone of contemporary jazz, with the debut Blue Note album Brian Blade Fellowship released in 1998. Over a career spanning Blue Note, Verve, Concord, CAM Jazz, and Stoner Hill, Blade has collaborated with a wide range of artists and produced a steady stream of impactful recordings.
