Team note

A sourced team detail

The Bridgeport Bluefish were an independent professional baseball team that competed in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball from 1997/1998 through 2017. Known for their competitive spirit and memorable seasons, the Bluefish earned the title of Atlantic League champions in 1999 and captured division titles in 1998, 1999, 2002, 2006, and 2010. A landmark milestone came in 2012 when the franchise became the first in the Atlantic League to reach 1,000 victories. While relocation plans to High Point, North Carolina were announced for 2019, that move was not completed and a different franchise, the High Point Rockers, ultimately emerged. The Ballpark at Harbor Yard, home to the Bluefish, was repurposed and opened as the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater on July 28, 2021, continuing the legacy of Bridgeport’s waterfront entertainment scene.
