Brigham International Folk Dance Ensemble Tickets

The Brigham International Folk Dance Ensemble (IFDE) is BYU’s flagship international folk-dance company, founded in 1956 by Mary Bee Jensen. With roughly 180 dancers across the program and a touring core of about 30 performers, IFDE brings a vibrant mix of traditional dances from Ukraine, Hungary, Serbia, Turkey, China, India, Ireland, Poland, the United States, and more to audiences worldwide. A hallmark of IFDE performances is the live accompaniment of Mountain Strings, delivering authentic, roots-driven music that elevates each dance.

As one of BYU’s most enduring performing arts programs, IFDE has a storied history that includes appearances at Olympic ceremonies in Seoul (1988) and Salt Lake City (2002), along with continuous international tours since the 1960s. Today, the ensemble continues its legacy with new recordings, dynamic live performances, and a robust touring schedule.
