Bring Down the Walls is more than a music project—it's a movement that fuses house music, education, and activism. Launched in May 2018 as a public art initiative at Firehouse Engine Company 31 in New York City, the project blends club culture with social justice, turning nightlife into a platform for discussion about mass incarceration and prison abolition.

Centered around a 2018 benefit album featuring collaborations with renowned artists like Empress Of, Honey Dijon, MikeQ, Ian Isiah, L'Rain, and Larry Heard/Robert Owens on reworks of classic house tracks, the project uses music as a vehicle for meaningful change. Proceeds support abolitionist causes through groups such as Critical Resistance, reinforcing the connection between art, activism, and community organizing.

The Bring Down the Walls umbrella extends beyond recordings. A documentary film, directed by Phil Collins, premiered in 2020 and has since appeared at film festivals like IFFR and public screenings at institutions such as BAM. Live performances have taken the project to notable venues including Berghain in 2019, demonstrating how house music can catalyze dialogue around policy and justice.
