Founded in 1972 by Richard and Bonnie Shapiro as King Richard’s Faire and later rebranded, it sits on a 30-acre site just off the I-94 corridor in Bristol, Wisconsin, near the Illinois/Wisconsin border. With 16 performance areas featuring swordfighters, minstrels, jesters, and jousts, the festival brings history to life every weekend during the season.
