British Youth Opera Tickets

British Youth Opera (BYO) has been a cornerstone of the UK's opera training landscape since 1987. Founded by Denis Coe as the national training company, BYO supports singers, directors, designers, stage managers, and music staff at the very start of their careers. Through hands-on productions and mentorship from established professionals, BYO champions new creative pathways in opera and performance. With Arts Council England funding since 2002 and patrons including Charles III, BYO stands as a trusted, national-level facilitator of upcoming operatic talent.

BYO’s summer productions are entirely created by BYO participants, offering immersive experience in all aspects of production—from casting and direction to design and technical management. The organization has marked several milestones, including presenting the first London performances of Flight by Jonathan Dove in 2008 and the European premiere of The Enchanted Island by Jeremy Sams in 2018.

Upcoming tours and events highlight BYO’s ongoing commitment to performance opportunities for young artists. In 2025, BYO presents Peter Grimes at Saffron Hall in Essex (Saturday, July 5) and Cadogan Hall in London (Sunday, July 6). A Summer’s Evening of Opera arrives at Smith Square Hall, London, on Thursday, August 7, in collaboration with Sinfonia Smith Square.
