Brooklyn Rundfunk Orkestrata is a bold, boundary-pushing musical collective founded in 2011 by Peter Kiesewalter, known for his work with the East Village Opera Company. The project reimagines classic melodies through a contemporary, cross-genre lens, blending rock, hip-hop, jazz, bluegrass, and more with orchestral textures. The Hills Are Alive, their 2011 Canal Records release, stands as a hallmark of the ensemble’s mission: to reimagine Rodgers & Hammerstein through fresh arrangements and new voices. While live activity dates from the early 2010s showcased performances at iconic venues like Joe's Pub and Highline Ballroom, as of 2025 there aren’t publicly listed tour dates. You can still discover their work on streaming platforms or archived materials, and we’ll keep you posted on any future appearances.
