Bruddah Waltah, born in Keaukaha, Hilo, Hawaii, was a foundational figure in bringing reggae-infused Hawaiian music to island stages. Active from 1979 until his passing in 2023, he fronted Island Afternoon and became a central voice in blending roots reggae rhythms with Hawaiian storytelling. His work helped chart a path for contemporary Hawaiian reggae and left a lasting imprint on Hawaii’s music landscape.
