Fans in Lewisburg and beyond know Bucknell Bison Volleyball as a program with depth, history, and steady commitment to competition. Debuting in 1978, Bucknell Volleyball joined the East Coast Conference before becoming a charter member of the Patriot League in 1990. The program quickly established itself with regular-season conference titles in 1997 and 1998, followed by a Patriot League Tournament championship and its first NCAA Tournament bid in 1998. Since then, Bucknell has continued to foster top-level play, producing notable alumni who have earned places in the Bucknell Athletics Hall of Fame, including Katie Steele (’96) and Melissa Wharton (’98).
