Bulrusher is a contemporary chamber opera based on Eisa Davis’s acclaimed play, with music by Nathaniel Stookey and a libretto crafted by Stookey and Davis. The work premiered as part of West Edge Opera’s Summer Festival in Oakland, CA, and it draws on the Pulitzer Prize finalist pedigree of the source material to deliver a powerful, intimate operatic experience.
