Cajun Dance Party formed in London in 2005 as a five-piece indie rock outfit that quickly drew attention from the UK music press and festival crowds. Produced by Bernard Butler for XL Recordings, their debut studio album, The Colourful Life, arrived in 2008 and remains a standout moment in late-2000s British indie. The band earned early hype from NME and performed at major festivals, including Reading & Leeds, Glastonbury, Oxegen, and T in the Park, helping them build a devoted following across the UK. Two members, Daniel Blumberg and Max Bloom, later left in 2009 to form the band Yuck, reshaping the trajectory of Cajun Dance Party while leaving a lasting imprint on the indie scene.
