The Cal Poly Mustangs Softball program, founded in 1975, has built a proud tradition in NCAA Division I competition. As of 2025, Cal Poly is in its 51st varsity season, hosting 24 home games at Bob Janssen Field and six home series scheduled for the year. Historically, the Mustangs have made noise on the national stage with NCAA postseason appearances in 2007 (Provo Regional) and 2009 (Palo Alto Regional), plus a 2017 run in the National Invitational Softball Championship. The 2024 season honored standout performances, including Jenny Condon earning Coach of the Year in the Big West and Jessica Clements becoming the program’s first Big West Player of the Year in 14 seasons. In 2025, Cal Poly earned All-Big West recognition for Kate Judy (Second Team), Julia Barnett (Honorable Mention), Kiara Blanchard (Honorable Mention), and Maddy Bermudez (All-Freshman Team).
