The Calder Quartet is a premier American string quartet renowned for its blend of classical cornerstone repertoire and contemporary collaborations. Founded in 1998 at the University of Southern California (USC) and named after the artist Alexander Calder, the group remains anchored by its four founding members: Benjamin Jacobson, Andrew Bulbrook, Jonathan Moerschel, and Eric Byers. Over more than two decades, they’ve built a reputation for intelligent programming, precise ensemble, and fearless explorations beyond traditional repertoire.
