The California Youth Symphony (CYS) is a celebrated American youth orchestra dedicated to fostering the next generation of classical musicians. Founded in 1952, CYS became a pioneer in youth arts by being the first American youth orchestra to tour overseas in 1963 (Japan). Today, under the steady leadership of Leo Eylar since 1990, the organization serves more than 400 students across eight programs in Palo Alto and Los Altos. CYS maintains a dynamic schedule of performances and international tours, delivering engaging concert experiences for communities across California and beyond.
