Camille A. Brown and Dancers (CABD) is a dynamic, multi-genre dance company founded in 2006 by choreographer Camille A. Brown. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, CABD creates theatre-rich works that fuse African diasporic movement with modern, hip-hop, tap, and live music to tell powerful, human stories. The company is known for ambitious repertory, community engagement, and a distinctive voice in contemporary dance.

Under Brown’s leadership, CABD has garnered major awards and nominations, including a Bessie Award for Mr. Tol E. RancE (2012), multiple Bessie nominations, and Tony nominations for Hell’s Kitchen and Gypsy. In 2025, Brown was elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, recognizing her impact on the arts nationally. CABD also runs EVERY BODY MOVE (EBM), a nationwide community and education program expanding social dance and engagement.
