Meet Candy, a trailblazing force in Malaysian rock. Formed in 1996 in Kuching, Sarawak, Candy is proudly recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records as the country’s first all-women rock band. Their bold sound blends rock, heavy metal, and hard rock with a distinctly Southeast Asian rock sensibility. Over the years, Candy has evolved through several line-up changes and remains a driving presence in the regional scene. From their platinum debut Candy (1997) to standout tracks like Akan Ku Tunggu, Candy has left an indelible mark on Malaysia’s rock landscape. Recognized for artistry and contribution to Dayak music, Candy earned a DAM A Special Award in 2012 via the Dayak Artist Music Association. After a period of activity, Candy re-emerged in 2024 with Setia2U and announced a 2025 comeback show, Pistol & Bunga, at Orchestra Hall, ASWARA in Kuala Lumpur on September 20.
