Meet Carl Mayotte, an acclaimed Ottawa-born jazz performer known for his dynamic interplay, melodic storytelling, and commitment to making jazz accessible. A recipient of the Radio-Canada Jazz Revelation prize for Fantosme (2020–2021) and the Félix Award for Jazz Album of the Year at the ADISQ Gala for Escale (2022), Mayotte has consistently pushed the boundaries of contemporary Canadian jazz. His 2023 Carnaval project earned the GAMIQ Jazz Album of the Year and helped establish him as a prolific touring artist with a growing international footprint. In 2024, Carnaval received a nomination for ADISQ Album of the Year – Jazz, underscoring his ongoing influence in the scene. Beyond recording, Mayotte launched the Kamouraska jazz camp in 2022 to democratize jazz education and inspire the next generation of musicians. His 2025–2026 tour slate includes performances in Vancouver, Saint-Hyacinthe, Dieppe, Rimouski, and Quebec City, continuing his mission to bring vibrant jazz to diverse audiences.
