Catching Flies is the artistic project of London-based producer George King. Since debuting with Silver Linings (2019), which earned wide praise for its melodic depth and atmospheric production, he continued with Silver Linings Remixed (2020). His sound sits at the intersection of electronica, downtempo, and trip hop, with a tactile approach to rhythm and textural sound design that listeners can hear on every release.
Independent label affiliations have played a key role in his discography, primarily with Indigo Soul, while he has also released material through Anjunadeep, expanding his reach to a global audience. His 2024 album Tides, along with Tides [Reworks], showcased refined production and collaborative energy, and 2025 saw Beats & Pieces, a collaborative project with The West Green Quartet, further broadening his sonic palette.
A regular on UK and European stages, Catching Flies has built a reputation for evocative live performances—from intimate club nights to large-scale shows with string ensembles. His 2022 Orsay live appearance with Cercle in Paris highlighted his ability to translate studio complexity into a live, transcendent experience. In 2024–2025, he continued to headline shows and curate string-enriched performances that emphasize mood, musicianship, and atmosphere.
In addition to studio work and live performances, Catching Flies has reached a broader audience via BBC Radio 6 Music, contributing to the Essential Mix in 2024 and maintaining a strong streaming presence with millions of listeners. His ongoing work continues to explore the boundaries between electronic soundscapes and live orchestration, inviting listeners into a consistently evolving musical world.
