Founded in 1938 by pianist Aaron Richmond, the Celebrity Series of Boston is one of the nation’s largest independent presenting organizations for live performance. In early 2026, the organization began operating under the rebranded name Vivo Performing Arts while continuing to honor its storied legacy and diverse artist roster. The company programs an expansive mix of classical, jazz, world music, dance, and multidisciplinary performances, presenting concerts and events across Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville. With a deep commitment to community engagement through Neighborhood Arts initiatives, the series brings world-class artistry to a broad audience through 17 sites, including Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, Berklee Performance Center, and Arrow Street Arts.
