Biography
The Celebrity Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1994 by Dr. Andrzej Rozbicki with a mission to share Polish musical heritage and culture with Canadian audiences. Based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), CSO has delivered 250+ concerts across GTA venues and related settings, building a reputation for versatile programming that appeals to both traditional classical listeners and new audiences alike.
Musical Range
CSO’s repertoire traverses Mozart and Chopin alongside prominent Polish composers, beloved film music, opera arias, and selections from musical theatre and pop crossover projects. The ensemble performs with a blend of precision, emotion, and accessibility, making sophisticated concert experiences approachable for families, students, and cultural enthusiasts.
Awards & Recognition
In 2010, CSO was honored with the MARTY Award for Performing Arts Group – Emerging. In 2025, artistic director Dr. Andrzej Rozbicki received Poland’s Gloria Artis (Golden Gloria Artis) medal from the country’s Ministry of Culture, underscoring his contribution to culture and music.
