Celtic Connections is Scotland’s premier winter music festival, founded in 1994 by Colin Hynd and produced by Glasgow Life, with direction from Artistic Director Donald Shaw. Each January into February, the festival fills Glasgow with a rich tapestry of traditional and contemporary sounds across 25 venues and around 130,000 attendees. It’s a celebration of Celtic and roots music, with signature programs that have become synonymous with the festival, including Transatlantic Sessions, the Roaming Roots Revue, the Danny Kyle Open Stage, and an Education Programme that brings schoolchildren into the heart of live music. The event typically spans about 18 days, weaving through venues like Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, O2 ABC, The Tron, Òran Mór, The Mitchell Theatre, City Halls, and Old Fruitmarket, among many others.
