The project evolved into a LA/NYC indie rock act known for a shift toward pop-inflected indie rock across later releases. Chalk Talk blends indie rock, emo, post-hardcore, and shoegaze textures, delivering expansive guitar work and emotionally charged vocals. Over the years, Chalk Talk has grown from DIY beginnings to a recognized name on Graveface Records, with a sound that nods to early shoegaze while pushing into brighter, hook-driven indie rock.

From 2023's Sometimes I Call You to 2025's Sun Lies Heavy, Chalk Talk's studio records showcase evolution while maintaining a core sense of melody and tension.
