Charalambides is a pioneering experimental folk project formed in 1991 in Houston, Texas. Centered on the intimate collaborations of Tom and Christina Carter, the duo has evolved with a rotating lineup that has included a range of guest musicians over the years. Their sound fuses acid folk, extended guitar drones, and improvisation, creating spacious, meditative textures and often wordless vocal passages. They’ve built a substantial reputation in indie and experimental circles for minimalism, sonic exploration, and a DIY ethos that mirrors their approach to recording and releasing music.
