Charles Bolden is a distinguished American leader whose career spans the Military, NASA, and the corporate world. Born August 19, 1946 in Columbia, South Carolina, Bolden earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy (1968) and an MS in Systems Management from USC (1977). A four-space-shuttle veteran and the first African American NASA Administrator, Bolden helped steer the agency through a pivotal transition toward the International Space Station, space technology advancement, and commercial crew initiatives. Beyond space, he forged a long Marine Corps career, commanding major units and flying 100+ combat missions. Today, as founder and CEO of The Bolden Group, he shares leadership insights through advisory work and speaking engagements.
