Charles Neidich is a distinguished clarinetist, conductor, and educator noted for his versatility on both modern and historical instruments. A trailblazer who often restores original versions of works by Mozart, Copland, Weber, and Schumann, Neidich has shaped performances and scholarship across generations. He co-founded the WA Concert Series and WA Sinfonietta with Ayako Oshima, where he serves as a conductor and performer. A longtime educator at Juilliard, the Manhattan School of Music, and Mannes College, he has been recognized with Juilliard’s William Schuman Award (2004) and a 2018 lifetime membership from the International Clarinet Society.
