Charles Osgood was a renowned broadcaster and musician whose career spanned decades in journalism and music. Best known for his work as a longtime CBS News host on Sunday Morning (1994–2016) and as the radio voice of The Osgood File (1971–2017), Osgood also left a notable mark in American music. He co-wrote the title track for Capitol Records' Gallant Men project with Everett Dirksen, and the Gallant Men album reached No. 16 on the Billboard 200, with the single earning a Top 40 finish. In 1968, he received a Grammy Award for Best Documentary Recording for Gallant Men, a collaboration widely cited in Dirksen’s and Osgood’s legacy. While there are no official personal social media accounts, his work lives on through CBS News, The Osgood File, and archival memorials across outlets like AP, PBS, and WFUV.
