Since 1949, the Charleston Light Opera Guild (CLOG) has been a cornerstone of Charleston, West Virginia’s cultural life. Born from a community passion for song and storytelling, the Guild began with a single production, HMS Pinafore, staged in January 1949 at the Charleston High School Auditorium. Today, CLOG is a dynamic producer of 4–5 musicals each year, bringing theatre to multiple venues around the city and nurturing talent from stage to screen. The Guild operates the Guild Theatre at 411 Tennessee Avenue, Charleston, WV 25302, and presents at the Civic Center Little Theater and the Clay Center Maier Performance Hall. The Guild’s ongoing legacy is defined by artistry, community engagement, and a commitment to accessible, high-quality musical theatre for residents and visitors alike.
