The Chattanooga Symphony (CSO) is a cornerstone of Tennessee’s musical landscape, celebrating a rich history dating back to its first concert on November 5, 1933. In a landmark change, the CSO merged with the Chattanooga Opera in 1985 to form the nation’s first combined professional resident symphony and opera company, expanding its artistic reach and audience. Today, under the baton of Music Director Ilya Ram, the CSO unveils a fresh artistic arc—Unspoken: Our Stories Through Sound—which guides programming through Reflection, Moments, and Destiny. The 2025–26 season opens with La Mer at Memorial Auditorium, signaling a new chapter for the ensemble and its supporters across the Chattanooga region.
