Chef Sheherazade appears as a pivotal figure in the 2025 Ravinia programming, representing a bold fusion of classical repertoire and contemporary storytelling. In this season, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Marin Alsop and in collaboration with co-curator Molly Yeh, presents a program that positions Scheherazade, Op. 35 by Rimsky-Korsakov at the center, alongside works by Reena Esmail and George Gershwin. This performance marks a notable fusion of traditional orchestral grandeur with modern programming concepts, part of Ravinia's Breaking Barriers initiative.
