Children of the Light emerged from the Jesus People Movement in Southern California, blending rock and folk influences with youth ministry outreach in the 1970s. As one of the early bands to secure a recording deal with Sparrow Records, they helped broaden the reach of Christian music during a formative era. The core lineup included Randy Boldt, Dave Stanley, and Steve Steffy, with later additions Greg Fraser and Bobby Chance. Their music aligned with the era’s vibrant faith-centered youth culture, delivering accessible songs that resonated in churches and community events.
